Who is Jessica Keehan?

I am running for City Council because I want to ensure our community thrives while using our tax dollars wisely. As a former business owner, a teacher, and a mother, I bring a perspective grounded in responsibility, education, and family life.

I am also a youth sports coach and an active volunteer at my daughters’ non-profit dance school, experiences that have shown me firsthand the power of community engagement and collaboration. I am committed to understanding exactly where our resources are being spent and finding ways to keep taxes as low as possible while still providing high-quality services and benefits for our residents.

I want to help shape a community where my daughters—and all children—can continue to grow up safely, happily, and with opportunities to succeed. Most importantly, I want to bridge the gap between the people and the city by listening to concerns, helping directly whenever I can, and connecting residents to the right resources when I cannot. Positive change does not happen when you wait for others—it happens when you step forward and offer to assist.

I never set out to be in politics—but as a mother, teacher, and neighbor, I care deeply about the future of Bloomington. I’m stepping up because our community deserves leaders who listen, learn, and put people first. My hope is that anyone who believes in positive change will feel empowered to raise their voice, show up at the polls, and help us build a Bloomington that truly reflects the values of fairness, inclusivity, and opportunity for all.
